God Speaks
Jesus teaches the parable of the sower in Luke 8 where He describes God speaking is like a person sowing seeds. God is speaking to everyone, but only some really hear what God is saying. Jesus calls out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
What keeps you from hearing God? If He is wanting to speak to you what can you do to hear Him? In this parable, Jesus teaches four things you can do to hear God better.
Do you hear Him?
Jesus says, “take care how you listen”. You hear God based upon how you listen. What keeps you from hearing God? Jesus teaches three things that keep us from hearing God.
Do you have it?
Jesus says, “whoever has, to him shall more be given“. What does He mean? He even says if we don’t have it then what we think we have is taken away from us.
Here is a very important key. It is the Spirit of God who knows our heart. He knows if we are really listening. It is God who reveals Himself to us. He shines His light to give us more insight, knowledge, and understanding. God enables us to hear Him better.
